Chic public toilets

As with many public space elements, Paris trumps New York.

It's in Times Square - you'll recognize it via the gaudy Charmin ad frontage.

I use my MoMA membership whenever I'm stuck in Midtown.

Large chain stores like Barnes and Noble or Borders are my preferred crappers of choice.

Bryant Park has nicely maintained public restrooms.

The thing about the examples here of the Paris and New York versions is that they are both staged as marketing events to demo products.

Don't even get me started on public toilets actually provided by the city! I do think Paris still trumps New York, Bryant Park excepted.

Yeah, I would have to agree with you about the state of Paris's regular public toilets. Both examples here are of bathrooms set up as a marketing event. Still, Paris trumps New York because it has City-run public toilets at all! You won't find many of those around NYC.
